SPECIAL GUESTS:

THE BAD MAN

Unprepared, loud, and rowdy, The Bad Man came together in 2016 to dust off the Minneapolis sound. Written in three months, their debut album Aint Clean pays homage to the classic punk songbook while laying a foundation for the back-alley bounce the band is becoming known for. The Bad Man is currently working on its sophomore release. In the meantime: bum a ride, see 'em live, they're worth the cover charge.

BLAHA

BLAHA is the solo project of Mike Blaha from intense Minneapolis surf-psych band The Blind Shake. His new album The Art of Not (Wet Bridge Records) is like watching someone's brain slowly clench into a fist as the tension builds between catchy pop songs and dark, sonic obsessions. The project erupted after a buildup of over 100 songs that fit less and less as Blind Shake songs given the lone gunman vibe and increased use of melody and dynamics.

DWYNELL ROLAND

Dwynell was born and raised in North Minneapolis, and has been rapping since the age of 13. During that time when he first started writing, he was part of a collective called TCB (Twin City Boyz). His time with the TCB was spent largely perfecting his craft of freestyling, and honing his knack for writing songs with a stylistic flair similar to T3 of Slum Village or Schoolboy Q, perfecting his style while maintaining a writing style similar to Joe Budden. This is mostly shown when he has dropped various freeverses via his YouTube page, showing his effervescence over such beats as “Stay Schemin’” and “Shine Blockas”.

EARLY EYES

Early Eyes became a band on October 3 2016, as a temporary pop-up ensemble, before exploding on the internet and garnering a sizable local following almost instantly. Drawing from all sorts of musical backgrounds, their songwriting abilities were worthy of winning The National Endowment of The Arts Songwriting Challenge. They are currently in the process of recording their official debut EP, Minutes, splitting time between The Institute of Production and Recording in downtown Minneapolis and their dorm rooms in Middlebrook Hall.

LADY LARK

Lady Lark is a local Minneapolis artist reviving a sound that echoes 20 years of pop, soul and funk music. 89.3, The Current has called her, "a pop/soul star to be" with "that 90's R&B heat." Her infectious hooks are wrapped in danceable beats that add a modern twist to a familiar groove. Lady Lark and her boys are hitting the summer concert scene with her new EP out 6/23/17. If you love to dance, Lark Lark will make your body move!

SASS

Stephanie Jo Murck, Willem Vander Ark, Alex McCormick, and Joey Hayes
