July 1, 2014 - Best of 2014 (so far)

Jul 01, 2014

The best in electronic music from the first half of the year! Includes music from Holly Herndon, FKA twigs, and more

Tonight, I played some of my favorites from this year so far. I know that there’s some great tracks/albums that slipped under my radar or didn’t have enough time for tonight, so you can expect that the end of the year list would be different from what I just played.

Honorable mentions:

Dego – “Nuts”

Vic Mensa – “Down on My Luck”

Leon Vynehall – “Butterflies / This Is the Place”

Throwing Snow – Mosaic

Robyn and Royksopp - Do It Again

Various Artists – African Shakedown 002

This week in electronic music:

A new Matthewdavid album was just released today.

Mu-Ziq will be releasing a new album titled Rediffusion.

Simian Mobile Disco shared more details about their upcoming album Whorl as well as some tour dates. They also released the first single off the LP called “Tangents”.

Next week is the Bonobo show in First Avenue’s mainroom.
