Hey all, hope you had fun during the 4th of July weekend. The rest of my family were out of town doing fun things, but hanging out with friends during the 4th was not bad at all.

I did listen to the new Soft Pink Truth record a few times this week. It was definitely an interesting listen, and the black metal vocals/themes fit well in a house/dance music setting. And because of my interest in that record, I also took a first listen to Matmos. From what I’ve heard so far from them, their music is also really interesting and experimental. I played some music from them tonight.

The only tidbits I have for this week is that Tim Hecker just released a B-side to Virgins through the Adult Swim Singles Program. The track’s called “Amps, Drugs, Mellotron”, an alternate take on the track “Amps, Drugs, Harmonuim” off of his last album. Download and listen to it here. There was also the Bonobo show that happened while Division by Zero was on air. In honor of that show, I played some stuff from him.

Oh, and I also guest-DJed on Rock and Roll Over today for their Tuesday Taste Test. I played music from The Range, Metro Area, among others.

That's all I have this week for DBZ. Tune in next week for a special Pitchfork Music Festival-themed playlist.
