K.U.K. 1/13/14

Jan 14, 2014

ELLO AGAIN LOVELIES

Another installment of K.U.K. brought to you by Matt flying solo. Monday night Matt re-explored the depths of his Itunes library to bring to light some classics as well as tunes that we haven't played on the show in a long time. So ladies and gents let's have a wee little history lesson then, shall we?

One of the great picks from Monday night was the track "The Boy with the Thorn in His Side" by the ever-iconic group, The Smiths. Coming off of the group's third studio album (The Queen Is Dead), the track features the eerie voice of Morrisey and a rather peppy bass line. But you don't have to take my word for it, Morrisey himself declared in 2003 that "The Boy with the Thorn in His SIde" was his favorite Smiths song ever. The Queen Is Dead was released in good 'ole '86 and spent a whopping 22 weeks on the UK Albums Chart reaching the second position at one point. Hell yea Smiths.

Tune in next Monday as Madeline (finally) returns to the show and we kick off another semester of K.U.K. here at the University of Minnesota.

Full playlist of the evening is listed below.
