New local jams and an in-studio with Howler!

Howler-World-of-Joy-cover.jpg

This Week's In-Studio: Howler

Howler dropped by the studio ahead of their UK tour to promote their sophomore LP World of Joy.

Raucous and self assured, Howler's in-studio performance mirrored the energy and brash musicality of their records. As nearly every review of Howler demontrates, it's impossible not to draw comaparisons to the Replacements. I'll avoid that here, as I think those comparisons are valid but Howler isn't the Replacements. They're a band in their own right, and World of Joy is full of really skillful songwriting and undeniable garage punk swagger. Jordan Gatesmith can write a hook, that's for sure.

Stay tuned for video of the session!
