Chatham Rise narrowly escapes using a bucket as a kick drum, and catch Debbie Harry w/ the Dum Dum Girls
Day 1 - We had to get our wristbands and get rolling to the venue to play Slacker Magazine showcase...they were pretty laid back at Slacker...we got to see great bands the Donkeys, the Shine Brothers and the Wolf, though they all had to run after their sets and we were left with no backline...we were trying to make do as it was Slacker Mag after all and our drummer Ben found a bucket out in the back of the club and a cardboard box to use for for a kick and a tom drum....at the last minute we were saved by next band J Ray with a kit...a great time at The Lost Well...we closed out the night watching Peelander-Z and The Woggles at Valhalla...
Day 2 - we were able to relax and enjoyed a sunny darkly sultry set from the Dum Dum Girls who invited Debbie Harry up to close their set out with "Dreamin"....going to try to check Damon Albarn or Kurt Vile tonight and looking forward to a marathon tomorrow as we play SXSW Austin Psych Fest Presents Levitation with Black Lips, Temples, Blouse, No Joy, Secret Colours, SISU, Goastt (Sean Lennon), Young Magic and Norway's Electric Eye, Brazil' s Boogarins and many more...we love all of the bands!
