Acid Dad first appeared in the New York scene at the outset of 2015. After spending the year self-releasing demos recorded at their studio in upstate New York, the band garnered local praise from the likes of Oh My Rockness, Brooklyn Vegan, Consequence of Sound and Stereogum. After releasing their debut EP Let’s Plan a Robbery in February of 2016, followed by their first sold out show at Baby’s All Right, Acid Dad embarked upon a two month tour of the United States.
When the beloved Minneapolis band Nice Purse tragically ceased to be, a smoking hole was left where the bombastic group once stood tall. Fortunately for the humans of the universe, lead man France Camp decided to continue writing and releasing his own brand of surf punk under his assumed name - along with James Wolfeatens, Dylan Rose and Kyle Kimm - to equally awesome returns.
Go For Retro is a term that NASA uses when Mission Control is attempting communication with a space shuttle. This is what our drummer told us. The term Go For Retro does not exist, but the band Go For Retro is dedicated to meditation through repetition and frequency. Taking influence from psychedelia of the past, but not trying to recreate it.
