darling lily gave is the mind child of local Minneapolis musician Taylor Donskey (DIVES, Lena Elizabeth, The Lowland Lakers) who is excited to share Cartograph and Lomograph, darling lily gave's debut records. They are siblings born from a scattered mind. Cartograph explores lush textures, quiet moments and thoughtfulness. Lomograph is an attempt to bite ones own head off. This dual compact disk release show will also serve as the band debut. Cartograph is currently available on Spotify, Bandcamp and Apple Music. 'CARTOGRAPH' RIYL: Sufjan Stevens, Andrew Bird, Cloud Cult, and laying in bed thinking of existence 'LOMOGRAPH' RIYL: Paul Baribeau, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Pixies, and yelling at existence.
Sister Species, Guitarist Abby Kastrul and accordionist Emily Kastrul (Betazoid, Hazel Ra), transform two decades of sibling rivalry into raw, unapologetic, orchestral pop songs. With their first full-length album Closer Now, Sister Species showcases a sound matured as a 7-piece ensemble. Featuring Jake Baldwin (Har Mar Superstar, McNasty Brass Band), Ryan Hays (Matra), Lars Johnson (McNasty Brass Band), Sten Johnson (McNasty Brass Band, New Sound Underground), and Noah Ophoven-Baldwin (Percheron, Drone Band), Closer Now’s intricate 3-part trumpet arrangements and driving beats lift the sisters' harmonies into refreshing new territory. Sister Species is working on their second full-length album, due in 2018. Icehouse Minneapolis $8 IN ADVANCE / $10 AT THE DOOR 9pm doors 21+
