K.U.K. Variety fun timez 11/11/13

Nov 12, 2013

GREETINGS! Very excited here to announce that blog entries will now become a regular part of your K.U.K. regimine! Lots of great features to come in the following weeks including hopefully many free downloads...stay tunes. The full set list will appear at the bottom of the page but here are some highlights.

We kicked off last nights set with a very recent release the ever legendary Bombay Bicycle Club. I know we previously posted this link on the facebook page but here it is again, a little nifty interactive music video of the track:  The group does not diappoint in this epic single that is a preview to a likely incredible fourth album to be released in February 2014. Lucy Rose's vocals are layered into the mix for this intricate piece.

Towards the close of the 8 o'clock hour Matt played a little Peace with their song Bloodshake. This comes off of their debut extended play EP Delicious which arrived on the scene a little over a year ago. A bit ambient of a piece, it is reminiscent of the love child of the xx and Foals.

Around 9:30 I queued up a delightful track from Bastille: No Angels. Somewhere between a mashup/sampler/new edition this track is stellar. The lyrics are sung by Dan Smith himself but are taken from TLC's "No Scrubs". He mixes lines from the American classic film "Psycho" both as the intro and throughout the piece. Featuring the smooth vocals by Ella, its overall a geeking out worthy tune. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE. If you're still not sold on checking out this track know that it is also mixed with the XX's "Angels". Now that I've peaked your interest check out the masterful work of Dan Smith here:

Also a fantastic bit in there was electro Manchester3-piece No Ceremony. A very downtempo jam with plenty of echoing piano and minimal vocals. You can hear it here:

Also this this episode of K.U.K.: listener requests for the xx and for Led Zeppelin, a Drake track produced and featuring both members of the XX, A cover of Lorde's "Royals", Kwes's re-release of Bashful now titled B_shf_l, and a brand new release from M.I.A.,
