Nov. 22, 2013
Nov 24, 2013An in-studio with Teammates, Cat People records (because everybody should be a cat person), new Glow Mechanics, and the usual local goods.
This Week's In-Studio: Teammates
Born out of the departure of the drummer of their previous project, Human Bear Trap, Teammates is a result of the need to continue making music and how to do so sans drummer. Members of Human Bear Trap Alan Skamser-O'Neil, Brady Mielke, and Dan Kasper based their new Teammates sound on drum loops and synth compositions, later adding live drumming from John Acarregui. The loud, dance-y, yet somewhat haunting quartet joined us in Studio K this week in support of their DIY debut EP Art Thief which the band recorded on the third floor of the Soap Factory. The release party was Friday night after they popped into Radio K at the Nomad World Pub with Myotis and Bollywood--a killer line up if you ask me.
