Radio K takes SXSW 2018: Day Two
Ah, the first full day of SXSW. It felt like it went by in a flash and was endless simultaneously (in a good way of course!). We kicked things off with an interview with sweet Robert Tilden of BOYO, a singer-songwriter artist in the L.A. DIY scene. Check out our full interview with him on our Youtube channel, guaranteed to make you smile.
Next, Jeyca headed over to the convention center to hear beloved local artist, Dessa, speak at KUTX's This Song podcast panel.
At the same time, Maddie and I watched performances by Moaning and Anna Burch in Voodoo Donuts (Yes, truly).
Over at a showcase co-hosted by The Current at Blackheart Bar, Jeyca caught a set by A Place to Bury Strangers, a noise rock band based out of New York City.
Later that evening, we made our way to the Polyvinyl Record Co. and Double Double Whammy showcase, which featured incredible performances by Lomelda, Hatchie, Hovvdy, and Post Animal. Under a stormy cloud cover, and a pink flowing umbrella overhead the outdoor venue, we ended our first full day in Austin on quite a dreamy note.
Check in tomorrow for more coverage of our South By adventures, and in the meantime, go check out our full interview with BOYO as well as the audio content collected by Jeyca!
