Mapleview Lounge has their hearts on their sleeves and music in the majority of their body parts, and this combination shows up loudly and proudly on "That'll Do Charlene." Clocking in at an economical under three minutes, punk rock fuses with synth pop, creating some sort of new genre that we can only call syunk rop. The guitars distort, the synths bleep and or bloop, the bass throbs with urgency, and the singer hollers at the top of his register until his voice strains, and then just keeps going. He's like the Energizer Bunny of angst! The song is fast and never gets slower. The synths keep up the tempo with their mad scientist-esque oscillations, the speed supported by the choppy lyrics that abandon complete sentences in favor of emotional upfrontness. If you like some loud garage rock, some moderately-volumed electronic music, check this out! If your name is Charlene, tell your friends that Mapleview Lounge is singing about you!
