A Radio K Christmas
This year, our holiday cup runneth over with a veritable BEVY of Christmas tunes from the naughty and nice locals of Minneapolis. That’s right, dear listeners, It’s A Radio K Christmas: A Wintry Mixtape so fire, your chestnuts won’t know what hit ‘em.
Making it’s debut just as 2K15 comes to a close, this one-of-a-kind holiday soundtrack is now available on our bandcamp free of charge. We’re no scrooges, feast your ears on 14 peppermint-laced tunes that only Your Friends at Radio K could have curated. Not to pat ourselves on the back or anything-- the artists did all the heavy lifting.
A Radio K Christmas has got everything you put on your list; warbling holiday gloom from Flavor Crystals with “Don't Worry Yoko, (Listen, von Trier Flakes Falling on Thin Ice),” a crunching power-ballad in “All I want for Xmas is to Die” that only Nancy’s Raygun can provide, and a glowing creation titled “The Night Before Christmas” from electro-hip-hoppers-turned-acoustic-sweethearts False Teeth, fresh off their very own Christmas compilation.
Your holiday cheer is incomplete without the reimaged recollection of the time Santa Claus kissed Rupert Angeleyes’ sweet momma (and he even asked Santa to come into Studio K to plead his case) or the heart-thumping cover of “Silent Night” contributed by Claire de Lune and Aaron Baum of Tiny Deaths, both exclusive to this unique medley. It’s enough to shock Santa off the roof, but at least he’ll be head banging and slow-moshing on the way down.
We at Radio K want to wish the good people of Twin Cities-land one last well-wish before the end of the year and can’t wait to share more holiday compilations in the future. Cheers to 2016!
